Those thick black curls

Round and round they go

Twisting, turning,

A rope around her

Tugging, twirling

Spiraling inwards

Pulling her to him

No, trapping her with him

Darkness engulfs

Blackest of blacks

The black of his hair

Taking her back

She pulls away desperately

A struggle for air

She looks around

Darkness is all that is there

Until a voice, his voice

She hears it calling now

Rising steadily as the tide

And that look in his eye

He needs her

She goes

Darkness swirls around her again

It all becomes too clear then

To her his voice sounds like heaven

When in fact it is poisonous possession

She doesn’t see it

But the past has a hold

The past won’t let go
